The sun eclipses the hill, revealing jewels like gold adorning wild grass, as the incandescent dew yields a return of day. Wildflower petals stretch into the light, ravishing another day.

A bird shakes, and she arches her head in a stretch, not yet ready for her morning announcement. The tree reflects from the pond. The mirror, yet holding the night’s stillness.

Horses gently snort awake, patting and rubbing the ground under their hooves. In the window, a barn cat yawns and curls into itself again, not minding the call of morning.

Under fallen foliage crickets go silent. Beetles rise up to sliding droplets. A snake twists and twirls in the wetness and returns to cover.

From a roofline, a squirrel watches a scene too delicious to disturb, while far into the sky two hawks circle in heights of silence.

Far off in the distance, over some hills, down a long stretch of road and around a few bends, routines activate. Each in their singular realms.
